The coast of Georgia is only 100 miles long from the Savannah River to the St. Mary's River... and yet the Georgia coast has a higher percentage of waterfront property in that 100 miles than the states of Washington, Oregon and California combined
The egg casing for a skate is called a "mermaid's purse".
The Bottlenose dolphin can see things
in front of it and behind it - at the same time!
(I think some human mothers can do that too!!!)
Baby sea turtles are born with a baby tooth that
helps to rip open their shells. Then they lose it.
Female blue crabs have red

Richmond Plantation was burned by General Sherman on his 'March to the Sea'. The property was later purchased by Henry Ford and the town was renamed Richmond Hill.
The horseshoe crab is not a crab at all
---it's related to spiders!
The brown pelican, which lives off the Georgia
coast, is the only dark pelican here and the only
pelican that dives from the air into the water to
get it's food.
